Bedwen Plants
A plant nursery and garden centre in Henllan, near Llandysul and Newcastle Emlyn in Ceredigion, on the same site as the winery and The Leeky Barrel bistro. Darren Shipp grows fruit, vegetable and herb plants chosen for flavour, alongside ornamentals, summer bedding, shrubs, composts and pots.

An independent garden centre in Ceredigion focused on the unusual and the delicious. Darren started it as Ediplants in 2016 and renamed it Bedwen in 2020 as the range grew beyond edibles.

Grown for Flavour
Bedwen began life as Ediplants, and the kitchen garden is still its heart. Darren hunts down the varieties that actually taste of something, not the yield-first types bred for supermarket shelves, so your tomatoes, chillies and strawberries earn their space in the bed.
Colour for Every Corner
Since 2020 the nursery has grown well beyond edibles. Summer bedding and hanging baskets, long-flowering perennials, hardy shrubs and evergreens, and spring bulbs, with plenty for shade, rockeries and pollinators.

The garden trade carries a heavy footprint, and shrinking Bedwen’s own is a constant mission. Darren focuses on the three worst offenders, cutting single-use plastics, avoiding pesticides, and moving to more responsible growing media.
