About Us, Short Version

Celtic Country Wines is a family-owned business handcrafting fruit wines and liqueurs in West Wales for over 35 years under the brand Celteg. The company has won Great Taste Awards and numerous other accolades. Its wines and liqueurs are made without animal-derived fining, making virtually every product vegan-friendly (the exception being mead, which is made with honey).

About Us, Long Version

Celtic Country Wines Limited was founded by Neal Shipp, a wine enthusiast with a lifetime passion for homemade fruit wine. Starting with small batches produced on the family smallholding, the company expanded to new premises and extra staff in front of house, production, administration and marketing, alongside members of Neal’s family who now work full time within the company.

The company is located in Henllan, Ceredigion, and features a visitor shop, The Leeky Barrel bistro, Bedwen Plants nursery and production facilities. Its award-winning products are regularly featured in “best of” lists and have been showcased on television, including the BBC’s Great British Menu.

As the company developed, the family brought its traditional products into the 21st century with a more professional look. The Celteg brand was born, combining award-winning, traditional country products with a modern image. Old Grumpy’s, an affectionate family tribute to Neal, followed: products steeped in tradition, including the famous piccalilli, Blackcurrant and Elderberry Wine and scrumpy cider.
