How we look after your personal data. We collect only what we need to fulfil orders, answer enquiries and reserve tables, and we never sell, share or rent your details.

What we collect and why
- Orders. Your name, delivery and billing addresses, email, phone number and order history, to fulfil and support your purchase. Payment is taken by Shopify (and PayPal where chosen); we never see or store your card details.
- Enquiries and reservations. The details you type into our contact, reservation, trade and stockist forms, delivered to us by email through Resend and used only to reply to you.
- Age confirmation. A cookie recording that you confirmed you are 18 or over, kept for 30 days.
- Marketing. Only if you have opted in, your email address in Mailchimp for occasional news and offers. Unsubscribe from any email or by contacting us.
- Website analytics. Anonymous page-view and performance measurements, and only after you have consented in the cookie banner.
Legal basis
Performing a contract (orders), our legitimate interest in answering you and running the business (enquiries, security), your consent (marketing, optional cookies) and our legal obligations (age verification for alcohol, accounting records).
Who we share it with
Shopify (shop, checkout, customer accounts and order emails), PayPal (if you pay with it), our couriers (name, address and phone for delivery), Resend (form emails), Vercel (hosting and, with consent, analytics), Mailchimp (if you subscribe) and our accountants. Each is bound by its own privacy terms and processes data on our instructions.
How long we keep it
Order records for six years for tax purposes; enquiries for up to two years; marketing subscriptions until you unsubscribe; cookies as set out in our cookie policy.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email enquiries@celticwines.co.uk. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
